When new trends come out sometimes you may not understand them or even know how to wear them. In fact it can sometimes take you over a year after the season they popped up in to even try to style them in your own wardrobe. That exactly what happened to me with fisherman beanies, it was one of those things I wasn’t sure I could wear. I mean I wear beanies all the time but they are normally pulled back so you see a bit of hair poking out and then slouched in the back. This was because I always felt that my face structure and shape needed hair to help define my features even more, but one day I decided to try out the style and here was the outcome.

For this outfit I had to change a bit of my outfit to something a little more out of my comfort zone of black and white with skinny jeans because I felt like the fisherman beanie needed an elevated look with some cropped trousers and some oversized layering to go for this more European minimalist vibe. I then paired this look with one of my favorite Borg coats in cream because it was a freezing cold day in the city and I felt like with the trousers and the converse it gave it that extra punch and to be honest it was a bit extra but in my head if I’m going to try something new that I’m not 100% sure about, then my philosophy is always to pair it with something that will draw the focus away from the area you’re unsure about.
