Who doesn’t love a leather jacket especially when it has a plethora of studs on it! A leather jacket should be a staple in everyone’s wardrobe, it is just such an easy piece to throw on for any occasion. It has a timeless quality and can make any outfit shine from the simplest outfit like a t-shirt and jeans, to an evening dress/cocktail look for a bit of edge to stand out. You honestly can go wrong when you put one on.

This look that I styled here is with one of my favorite leather jackets, I wear it a lot when I want to stand out a bit and the studs help do just that. It is a bit oversized, which like most of you know by now is something that I love to incorporate into my wardrobe and everyday style. It’s paired here with some cute little short shorts, tan Chelsea boots, a minimalist striped shirt, and of course a signature Dakota wide brimmed fedora hat. To add to the edginess of the look I paired it with this amazing drop feather ear cuff earring.

One thing that I love to do with my looks is to take crazy accessories or pieces and pair them down with basics, it’s a simple styling choice that can have a lot of impact in the long run. By pairing down such loud pieces you are letting them speak and sing as a soloist and not compete for the attention in the look. If you ever feel like you are struggling to style a look to leave the house in, because there is a lot going on. Pick the piece or pieces you want to stand out and then pair down the rest of your look with basics from your closet, or as some other stylists would say take off one item or accessory when you feel you have to much going on.

So basically let your style shine and the pieces you invest your money in to or are the stand outs in your wardrobe should have their moment in the spotlight, so you get asked the question you’re hoping you get asked when you’re out which is “where did you get that?” or the comment you’re dying to hear which is “OMG that piece is AMAZING! I’m in love, can I have it.” Either way embrace what the pieces are saying and how they want to be worn and at the end of the day own your look with confidence and when in doubt add some studs and you’ll always stand out!
